Great last minute here - it's all end to end stuff - and Cisse almost wins it for the home side! He strikes the ball from 30 yards and the ball takes a deflection, but the ball flies just wide of a scrambling McCarthy's post. And that's it!
90' +4
A minute left and Onuoha is out on the left wing, but inexplicably curls his cross way away from any QPR player. So poor from the defender when a good delivery was desperately needed.
90' +3
A. Le Fondre gets yellow.
Hunt is away in the box after being fed well by Tabb from the left, but shanks his volley well wide. Poor from the striker there.
90' +2
Le Fondre goes down in the box and Oliver blows up - could this be the end of Mark Hughes? No - the Reading player is booked for a dive, and the home crowd breathe again.
90' +1
Cisse crosses to the back post and Zamora meets it, but can only bundle the ball straight at McCarthy. Fortunate for the visitors there, but the keeper deserves his luck today - he's been outstanding.
90'
At least five minutes of injury time here - plenty of time for a goal or two. But will they arrive? Both sides are desperate for a goal, and Anton Ferdinand has to leave the pitch for treatment.
88'
A. Le Fondre enters the game and replaces J. Roberts.
Two minutes to go and QPR have a corner - can Hughes' men give their manager a very, very, very early Christmas present?
86'
It's Reading's turn to threaten but Leighertwood blasts wide after working himself some space outside the area.
84'
N. Onuoha enters the game and replaces A. Traoré.
And now Taarabt blasts an effort at goal from 12 yards out on the right, but he puts so much into the shot it goes out for a throw-in. He's been outstanding today apart from when he actually shapes to shoot. If he'd been on form in that regard, QPR would be out of sight by now.
82'
Another amazing stop from McCarthy! QPR break and Cisse finds Taarabt with a fine pass - the Moroccan skins a defender and shapes to finish from eight yards, but the keeper does brilliantly to turn his effort around the post. Brilliant save and terrible miss in equal measure.
Minute
Description
81'
B. Zamora enters the game and replaces J. Mackie.
Tabb is caught high by Diakite there - the midfielder is more than a little lucky not to be cautioned.
80'
Robson-Kanu gets an unmarked header at goal, but he sends it wide of Cesar's goal. The poor Brazilian keeper must dread it every time the ball goes out of play for a corner - the hosts have been so poor in the air.
79'
H. Robson-Kanu enters the game and replaces J. McAnuff.
78'
Granero launches a poor effort up and over the bar - that was a rather tired effort, especially given his earlier attempts.
77'
Cisse is caught by Gorkss there - or is he? Whether he did or not, QPR now have a free kick in a promising position. Both players laugh after it afterwards, which is nice to see.
76'
Has either side got what it takes to grab a winner? There's a fine line between bravery and foolishness, but as is so often proved in the Premier League, those who risk it all usually prosper - even this early in the season.
73'
Bosingwa tries to trick the Reading defence, but only succeeds in tricking his own feet as he loses the ball. Reading break but can't turn it into a chance...and now QPR break forward, with Diakite driving a shot well wide. He's looked like shooting whenever he gets the ball, but he'll have to do better.
71'
Roberts so nearly finds a finish in the area but his effort is blocked as the home crowd hold their breath. It's becoming a very open game here - great for the neutral, but it must be painful for the managers.
69'
Jimmy Kebe practically flies past Traore down the right, showing superb pace to get near goal, but he fires his effort disappointingly over. He could be the key to victory with more runs like that though.
68'
Another fine run and shot by Taarabt produces a good stop from McCarthy - that's better from Taarabt, but he still can't beat the Englishman today.
67'
Well, that's certainly put the blue-haired Frenchman among the pigeons eh? Can QPR finally secure their first win of the season?
66'
D. Cissé has scored a goal for Queens Park Rangers! Assist by José Bosingwa.
CISSE LEVELS FOR QPR!!! Nice work from Diakite sets up Bosingwa for a right-footed curling cross, and Cisse gets there ahead of Morrison to bring the ball down and finish well into the corner of McCarthy's net. Fine predatory work from the striker, and it's all square.
64'
Jason Roberts is almost through but Oliver feels the striker fouled a defender after chasing down McCarthy's long goal kick, much to his anger. Still, it was weak defending from the hosts yet again.
62'
J. Kébé enters the game and replaces G. McCleary.
There's a break in play as Hunt has got an elbow in the arm courtesy of Granero. It's not a blatant attack as both players' eyes were on the ball but Granero may consider himself a tad lucky to escape punishment as he caught the Reading striker full in the face there.
60'
Should QPR have had a penalty? Morrison looked to have got his foot to the ball but it was a rough challenge as Mackie tried to finish from six yards out - it could well have been given on another day.
58'
QPR getting closer here as a goal-mouth scramble is cleared away, but the home side have ramped up the pressure here. Mackie looked like he was dragged down but it was a real battle between the forward and Morrison there.
55'
This time Leighertwood meets a corner but can only power the header high over Cesar's bar - if Reading continue to threaten from set pieces, it may only be a matter of time before the game is beyond Hughes' men.
53'
Morrison connects with another header from a Shorey free kick here, but can only glance wide after rising highest to meet it. QPR simply cannot match the imposing centre-back in the air today, with his confidence in the air leading directly to Gorkss' opener.
51'
Nice movement from Reading here as they try to work their way into QPR's box, but the ball runs out of play. McDermott's side have been impressive with the ball on the floor today, which will be heartening for their manager.
49'
Granero's effort is good, but not good enough - he can only find the side netting with a curling effort. Reading will have to be more disciplined around their area in this second half if they're to keep him out.
48'
QPR have a free kick 25 yards out wide on the left - will Granero try again?
46'
We're back underway at Loftus Road - do QPR have what it takes to get anything from this game? Mark Hughes will have presumably had a word or two at half time, but will they turn the game for his side?
45' +1
What a waste as the short corner routine is fluffed by Diakite and Taarabt, as the forward puts in a poor delivery that is of no danger to the visitors. And that's half time!
45'
Only a minute of stoppage time here - and Diakite wins a corner. Is there time for QPR to go in level?
43'
Hunt is adjudged to have controlled a through-ball with his hand, and the home crowd call for a red card after his earlier booking - but there's no danger of Oliver sending the forward off for that. He will have to be careful as the game progresses though.
41'
It really was a stunning stop from the Reading keeper, and if the 22-year-old keeps making saves like that, he may well have Roy Hodgson sending his scouts to the Madejski Stadium in the coming months.
38'
Unbelievable save from McCarthy! Granero curls in a brilliant effort and half the ground think it's in, but the keeper gets fingertips to the ball to deflect it onto the bar. Bosingwa narrowly misses the follow-up volley, but that was QPR's best chance by far.
37'
Mackie does well to draw a foul right on the edge of Reading's box here. Good work from the striker, but will it lead to a leveller?
34'
N. Hunt gets yellow.
Not sure what Bosingwa was thinking there - he is out on the right but instead of crossing, tries a shot that soars up, up and away into the stands Baffling decision considering he had players up with him in the box.
33'
Granero looks like a very tidy player - he's useful in possession and moves the ball intelligently to the likes of Taarabt and Hoilett. Neat play with the Moroccan releases Diakite, who is tripped by Hunt for the first booking of the game.
32'
That's not great from the defender - he gets it up and over the wall but it's never coming down in time, and Cesar is grateful to see it fly past his goal.
31'
Hoilett gives away a free kick 25 yards out here - surely Shorey will have a go at goal...
30'
Gunter's bright yellow away strip has a large patch of mud down the back of it - whoever is washing his kit is going to be quite angry with him, that's for sure.
28'
That's closer from Taarabt as he drives into space, but can only finish disappointingly at McCarthy from 20 yards out. It's been a case of too hot, too cold in terms of the Moroccan's shooting so far - maybe the third effort will be just right?
25'
Now Taarabt hits a strong effort on goal after a bit of dazzling dribbling away from Reading defenders. It's a good hit, but it's too high and flies just over the bar. Promising for the hosts, but they'll need to get a bit closer in to really test McCarthy.
23'
McCarthy just about collects a Granero cross from the right here under pressure from Mackie, much to the visitors' relief. The away support chant the keeper's name and he looked pleased as punch.
22'
It seems as though Cesar let the ball slip through his fingers - but replays show the ball took a deflection before it reached the Brazilian keeper. He still could have gotten more behind the ball though, and Hughes will rue another soft goal conceded at home.
20'
Cisse should equalise for the hosts here after Diakite does well to fashion space and cross from the right - the ball falls for the striker 12 yards out but he scuffs horribly wide.
18'
Reading pressing again here, and Morrison causes problems once again from a corner. The home side look edgy whenever the ball is in the air.
16'
K. Gorkšs has scored a goal for Reading!
READING ARE AHEAD!!! It's so, so poor from the home defence, but Gorkss showed great technique to volley in after a scramble in the box. Morrison had his first header blocked from Shorey's corner but rose highesst again and looped it onto the ball; from the rebound Gorkss volleyed in with his left foot courtesy of a couple of deflections. The away side lead.
14'
Hoilett is close here - he fires in a great left-footed effort from 25 yards that goes just wide of McCarthy's left-hand post. Good work from Taarabt to fashion the chance, and a strong effort, but the score remains level.
11'
Cisse carries the ball forward confidently and takes it to the edge of the area before placing a powerful effort towards the top corner - but the ball flies just over. Great effort from the Frenchman there, and one of the only real moments of quality to speak of as yet.
9'
No real chances since the early Hunt shot, and the crowd is a little subdued. It may be playing on the players' minds that today could make a massive difference to their Premier League survival hopes - and the supporters too.
6'
Both sides are looking to impose themselves early on, and each team has pressed forward winning corners. It seems as though both managers have told their sides an early lead will be crucial today - that should make for a good opening.
4'
Noel Hunt goes close after Jay Tabb exhibits some fine dribbling on the right, but his shot across goal is deflected wide. Confident from McDermott's side.
3'
Kaspars Gorkss had the initial chance at the free kick, and QPR will have to be careful of the visitors' aerial ability. They can't be giving away silly free kicks early on here, otherwise they'll be punished.
1'
Michael Oliver gets us underway and Reading have an early free kick. QPR fail to deal with it and Jobi McAnuff fizzes a ball across the six-yard box, and Armand Traore had to be on hand to clear. Promising for the visitors here.
Good afternoon and welcome to the live commentary of QPR - Reading at Loftus Road. Rangers are in dire need of a win after a poor start to the season, with Mark Hughes' team rooted to the bottom of the Premier League without a victory. It's a crucial day for Brian McDermott's men as well, who have battled well but are not collecting the points they will need to stay in the division.
The team news is in... QPR: Cesar; Bosingwa, Ferdinand, Nelsen, Traore; Mackie, Granero, Diakite; Taarabt, Hoilett, Cisse.
Subs: Green, Derry, Hill, Wright-Phillips, Onuoha, Zamora, Faurlin.
So, the big news for the home side is that Bobby Zamora and Alejandro Faurlin start on the bench for the home side, who will be counting on Djibril Cisse's finishing and the trickery of Adel Taarabt and Junior Hoilett
As for Reading, Adam Federici drops to the bench after picking the ball out of his net seven times against Arsenal in the Capital One Cup in midweek, with Alex McCarthy replacing him.
Neither side can move out of the drop zone today, but three points could be priceless in the long run. Despite picking up just four points, The Royals have only played eight games this season - at least one less game than the majority of the league, so they won't be panicking just yet.
The teams are out, and Cisse is sporting a rather...fetching hairdo, with a blue mohican style adorning his head. That takes some confidence - but if there's anything Cisse has in abundance, it's confidence. Can he fire QPR to victory today? We're just about ready...
So, can QPR turn things around in the second half? Reading started brightly and were rewarded with a well-taken goal by former QPR player Gorkss, but the hosts have had the better chances since. Mark Hughes will believe his side can still win this one, but the home crowd's boos at the whistle tell a different story.
QPR will feel slightly hard done by after Alex McCarhty's world-class save to deny Esteban Granero a memorable free kick, but whereas Julio Cesar let Reading's goal slip through his fingers, the English keeper reacted superbly at full stretch to maintain Reading's lead.
Replays show Gorkss' volley at goal came off of Nelsen's arm on its way through, so it may be a tad harsh to blame Cesar - especially as his defenders did nothing to block Reading from either effort at goal. Once again the Brazilian suffers from indecisive players in front of him.
So, the game finishes 1-1 and it's a much-needed point for both sides - but Mark Hughes will feel his side should have taken all three points after a strong second half display. Only the brilliance of young Alex McCarthy denied them three points, but QPR remain without a victory from 10 games.
Brian McDermott will probably be the happier of the two managers as his side were unable to cope with the movement of Cisse, Taarabt and Hoilett. However, they could have won the game had Kebe's late, late effort not been blocked well.
Thank you for joining us for the live commentary of QPR 1-1 Reading. Neither side will be particularly pleased with a point, but then again, both avoided a potentially disastrous defeat. Mark Hughes lives to fight another day, but the boos of the home crowd suggest he will have to turn things around - and quickly - to remain at Loftus Road.
