Suarez has the ball in the back of the net, but it's been Coates has been penalised for climbing all over his man to head the ball into the path of the striker! Late, late drama here at Goodison Park.
90' +3
A minutes left to play and Gerrard has the chance to send in a handing free kick after being felled by Osman. Skrtel and Agger have gone up...
90' +2
What a great, great ball by second-half substitute Oviedo. He gets to the left-hand byline and curls a fantastic ball to the back post. The problem? Not one blue shirt is anywhere near it. A waste.
90'
There will be four minutes of added time.
88'
Sterling looks is noticably struggling at the moment, limping slowly around, but Liverpool have used all of their substitutes. Only a few more minutes buddy, you can do it.
86'
S. Coleman gets yellow.
Sterling's time to go close now after latching onto the end of Allen's free kick, but he can only send it bending over Howard's bar.
85'
B. Oviedo enters the game and replaces S. Naismith.
Here come Liverpool again, and Everton again have to throw bodies in the way as Baines tracks and dives in on Suarez's dart into the area. Good work by the tireless left-back.
84'
Is this the start of a late Liverpool surge? The away side again go close, this time Gerrard turns provider for Henderson, but the latter's volley has less effort behind it than in my six-year-old half-sister's bicep. Terrible.
83'
Henderson darts down the right flank and cuts the ball inside towards Gerrard. The skipper has enough time and space to set himself for a 'Gerrard Special', but Jagielka throws his body in the way to block. Ouch (again).
Minute
Description
81'
Second attempt at the free kick and it is played short and worked out to the left where Baines' thunderous snap-volley is blocked by Skrtel. Ouch.
80'
Ooooh, Naismith is mighty unlucky after his quick thinking from Neville's free kick is pulled back by the referee. The summer signing was almost certain to score there. The Liverpool defence had no chance.
79'
Here is DL from GP again: "Just over 10 minutes remaining here at Goodison Park and to say this game is finely poised would be an understatement. Both sides are desperate for a winner but the possibility of suffering the crushing blow of losing in the dying moments will doubtless be in the minds of both sets of players.
76'
Not quite as bad as Sterling's earlier, but Shelvey has submitted his entry for 'Worst shot of the game'. After great counter-attacking play from Gerrard, the half-time substitute is set free centrally but drags his shot well, well wide of Howard's right-hand post.
74'
Henderson's first piece of action sends Howard scrambling to direct a mis-guided cross over his bar. He was almost lucky with that, the substitute, but it still left three Liverpool players scratching their heads in the penalty area.
73'
Jones just sent a goal-kick directly out of play. His reaction? Smile oddly and look remarkably like Adrian Mole.
71'
L. Suárez gets yellow.
70'
J. Henderson enters the game and replaces A. Wisdom.
Rodgers with his final throw on the dice, bringing on Henderson for the youngster Wisdom.
69'
D. Agger gets yellow.
67'
CLOSE! Jelavic should have scored there. The striker again gets on the end of Baines' delivery but guides his header off target despite being in a central position just eight yards from goal. A lucky escape for Liverpool.
66'
Another free kick for Everton after Allen - who, like Sahin, has done precisely nothing for Liverpool today - trips Coleman. Baines with another chance...
65'
...Baines sends in a whipped delivery and Jelavic beat Fellaini to the ball but his glancing header is directed wide.
64'
Jelavic is hauled down by Coates, and is arguably lucky to get receive just a booking. Baines is standing over the free kick...
61'
Fellaini is once again in the centre of everything for Everton and, this time, plays a one-two with Coleman is set the right-back into the area. Coleman dinks a cross towards an unmarked Jelavic but Skrtel gets back in the nick of time to diver the danger.
58'
...and Gerrard thumping goal-bound effort is pushed away by Howard. Stinging drive.
57'
P. Jagielka gets yellow.
Oooh, Jagielka can call himself fairly lucky to only be shown a yellow card there after hauling down Sterling. However, Gerrard is standing over the free kick only 22 yards from goal...
55'
The pace of the game has, unsurprisingly, reduced since half-time but there are definitely more goals in this.
53'
My Lynch from Goodison Park: "A half-time change for Everton which I missed as Mirallas makes way for Gueye. The Belgian appeared to pick up an injury just before half-time but that is a huge blow for the hosts as he had been one of their biggest threats."
51'
Seriously, I'm still laughing about that miss. Anyway, Everton come back at Liverpool through a fierce shot from Jelavic that Jones does well to parry. Baines collects the rebound and sends a dinked cross to the back post - that Osman misses - but is taken out by Skrtel in the process. Calls for a penalty are waved away immediately.
49'
HOW HAS HE MISSED THAT?! Sterling plays a fine one-two with Enrique to set the former in the open and with just Howard to beat... but ends up unleashing one of the worst shots I have ever seen, and Suarez is LIVID. Jumping, screaming, hand-waving antics from the striker.
48'
Here is Mr Lynch with a quick first second-half update: "Two substitutions for Liverpool at half-time as Suso and Sahin are replaced by Shelvey and Coates. The Reds move to three at the back - will it work?!"
46'
M. Gueye enters the game and replaces Kevin Mirallas.
S. Coates enters the game and replaces N. Şahin.
J. Shelvey enters the game and replaces Suso.
And we are back unway at Goodison Park where the scoreline currently reads as 2-2.
45' +3
And the referee calls the end to a pulsating opening 45 minutes. A stunning game so far.
45' +2
P. Neville gets yellow.
45' +1
Neville goes down under absolutely not contact outside the Liverpool area and duly gets a yellow card. Great way to undermine your boss there, Phil.
45'
We are set to have three minutes of added time at the end of the first half.
43'
Worrying signs for Everton as Mirallas, who has arguably been Everton's best player, limps off the pitch after yet more quck thinking and smart movement. Only two minutes until half-time though.
40'
Sahin has been invisible for Liverpool so far. Everton are bossing midfield, with Fellaini a man mountain of a presence.
38'
Here come Everton again, and you can see them score another before half-time at this rate. Fellaini nods down Neville's long ball forward into the path of Mirallas and the forward sets off on another twisting run into the area that culminates with a shot across the face of Liverpool's goal that Jones does well to push away.
36'
Fingers must be pointed at Enrique for Everton's equaliser, the left-back (playing right-back in Glen Johnson's absence) had no idea where Naismith was to cover.
35'
S. Naismith has scored a goal for Everton! Assist by M. Fellaini.
GOAL! 2-2!! Two goals in 12 minutes and Everton are level! Fellaini breaks over the half-way line, combines well with Mirallas before finding the onrushing Naismith with a low, driven cross inside the area to power home from six yards. Superb game!
31'
Oooh, you lucky boy Sterling. The winger could so easily have been handed another yellow card and his marching order after another reckless challenge on Baines which, for my money, looked worse than the original booking. Thin ice, Rahmmy, thin ice.
30'
More good movement from Mirallas, who I have been impressed by so far, but Fellaini isn't on the same wavelength for once and Jones rushes out to collect the through ball.
29'
R. Sterling gets yellow.
Sterling is booked for a later challenge on Baines. The youngster is definitely struggling to contain the left-back at the moment.
26'
Everton are visibly buoyed by that goal and are enjoying riding a wave on momentum at the moment. Jelavic, Mirallas and Fellaini - who have combined well all game - link up again with the former feeding the latter inside the area, but the big Belgian cannot sort out his feet quick enough to guide past Jones.
24'
After those breathless few minutes, Mr Lynch gives us his thoughts: "What a game we have on our hands here! Everton are back in the game as a corner is headed away as far as Osman and the Englishman slams home beyond an unsighted Brad Jones. Game on!"
22'
L. Osman has scored a goal for Everton!
GOAL! Everton are back in this straight away! Baines' superb corner delivery is not handled well by Liverpool's second-choice goalkeeper Jones - who punches it straight to an unmarked Osman on the edge of the area. One touch to control and another to guide through a crowded area and the hosts have belief again.
20'
L. Osman gets yellow.
L. Suárez has scored a goal for Liverpool! Assist by S. Gerrard.
LIVERPOOL GO 2-0 UP! And it's Suarez again! Osman is penalised for a foul on Wisdom some 20 yards from goal, Gerrard whips the ball in and the striker is on hand to guide it past Howard with the Everton defence stationary.
18'
It must be noted that Suarez ran over to the Everton bench while celebrating and pretended to dive in front of Daivd Moyes following the latter's criticism of simulation earlier in the week. Pathetic and immature from the player.Should have been booked.
15'
Credit to referee Andre Marriner to wave play-on in the build-up when he could have halted Skrtel's run for a foul on Sterling. It appears to have officially gone down as a Baines own goal.
14'
L. Baines is unfortunate, scores an own goal!
GOAL! Suarez's collects a deflected pass across the face of goal and hits an effort that looks to be heading off target before spinning in off the legs of Baines for an own goal.
12'
Here is DL again from GP: "The first derby challenge goes in and nobody has been sent off. Phil Jagielka just gets to a 50-50 before Steven Gerrard but ball bounces off the Liverpool skipper for a throw in."
10'
...the corner is sent in and guided directly underneath Jones' bar which Agger again does well to head clear. Everton upping the ante here.
9'
Everton go closest yet through a fine, darting run down the right by Mirallas, with Agger needed to track back to concede a corner...
7'
Here is more from David Lynch: "The contrast in styles between these teams could not be more apparent early on. Everton aren't afraid to use the long ball to Fellaini whilst the Reds are trying to keep the ball on the deck as much as possible."
5'
Liverpool make their way up the pitch for their first foray forward, winning two corners but, as with Everton's earlier, they also come to nothing. Tepid start here so far.
4'
Here is David Lynch with his thoughts straight from Goodison Park: "Early pressure for Everton as they win a corner. The set-piece was won from a flick-on by Fellaini, I imagine that tactic is going to be a prominent feature of this game."
2'
First sign of action straight from kick-off as Jelavic combines with Fellaini down the right before swinging a ball across the face of Jones' goal towards Mirallas - but Skrtel heads clear. The resulting corner comes to nothing.
1'
And Everton get us underway!
Good afternoon and welcome to Goal.com's LIVE coverage of the Merseyside derby between Everton and Liverpool from Goodison Park. My name is Alex Young and I will be taking you through the game's events.
First things first, let's get clued up on those line-ups. First up, the home side...
So, the main talking point is the second-choice goalkeeper Brad Jones continuing between the posts for Liverpool, with Pepe Reina only fit enough for the bench. Elsewhere, Andre Wisdom, Suso and Raheem Sterling all start for the first time in the famous derby.
For Everton, Fellaini passes a fitness test to start, with Mirallas taking a spot on the left-hand side of midfield in place of the suspending Steven Pienaar.
With 10 minutes to go until kick-off, why not take a quick glance at our match preview by clicking the 'Preview' button just above this text. David Lynch has gone for a 2-1 win for Everton, what do you think?
The teams walking out onto the pitch. We are about four minutes away from kick-off here.
Here is David Lynch with his half-time thoughts from Goodison Park: "What a fantastic half of football. Liverpool were hanging on at the end and needed the referee's whistle to come when it did. What happens next is anyone's guess."
Two changes for Liverpool as Shelvey and Coates have come on for Sahin and Suso.
So, Everton fight back two goals down to draw 2-2 against their rivals but Suarez could have had the last laugh at the death. A stunning first half, a tense second half.
