Willian could have given the visitors a HUGE, dramatic goal, smashing a rebounded shot against the crossbar in the final effort of the match.
90' +3
Pirlo's delivery from a corner is cleared as far as the edge of the box, but any danger evaporates as Lichtsteiner blazes his half volley miles over the woodwork!
90' +1
Ilsinho gets yellow.
As we enter stoppage time, Ilsinho gets a deserved yellow for tugging Asamoah's shirt back around the halfway line.
89'
Lichtsteiner's down on the ground with cramp, it seems. He will no doubt be back up in a second.
88'
Mkhitaryan shows what he is capable of with a burst of speed across the pitch from left to right, ending with a shot that is dragged across the face of goal from 15 yards.
87'
Three minutes remain and it's the visitors who are showing more desire and composure as they press for a second goal.
85'
P. Pogba enters the game and replaces A. Vidal.
Quagliarella is lucky not to be booked for a cynical kick on Kucher's ankle, which has caused a break in play as he receives treatment.
84'
Ilsinho enters the game and replaces Alex Teixeira.
83'
As we approach the final few minutes of the match, it's worth pointing out that Shakhtar have had 55% of possession - an excellent effort from the visitors considering the size and stature of their opponents tonight.
81'
WILLIAN! So close from the Brazilian forward, who snaps it a hair length wide of the right post having left Buffon stranded with his 20-yard strike.
Minute
Description
80'
The ball is bouncing to and fro, from defence to defence, as neither side can penetrate that final line in pursuit of the winning goal.
77'
Pirlo will be disappointed after skying his free-kick attempt from 30 yards. Probably karma, as it was a ridiculous decision to give the free-kick in the first place.
76'
T. Hübschman gets yellow.
74'
Again the visitors go close! Mkhitaryan tries to pass it into the corner but it skids the wrong side of the post. The in-form attacker has not strapped his scoring boots on tonight, unfortunately for him.
73'
Gianluigi Buffon has to dive to his left to save Srna's set-piece shot.
72'
G. Chiellini gets yellow.
Chiellini hacks down Alex Texeira - free-kick to Shakhtar 25 yards from goal.
71'
Lichtsteiner is again an architect for Juve, but his ball from the right on his left foot only just evades Giovinco and Marchisio at the far post.
69'
Uproar in the Juventus Stadium amongst the home support. Firstly, Marchisio is denied a penalty after going down beside Fernandinho then Shakhtar get a soft free-kick as they try and clear their lines.
A drop ball 30 yards from goal - honestly, I do not have a clue why they're having a drop ball and neither does anybody else in the Juventus Stadium it seems! An 'interesting' performance from the referee tonight...
67'
A poor cross from Rat on the left wing ends any imminent threat from the Ukrainian side.
65'
F. Quagliarella enters the game and replaces A. Matri.
That's the last bit of action for Matri, who is replaced by a goalscorer against Chelsea two weeks ago: Fabio Quagliarella. Can he repeat such heroics tonight?
64'
Srna whips in a searching ball but it goes over everyone's head and out of play. At the other end, Matri is denied a penalty after theatrically going down in the box, although replays show his arm was pulled slightly.
63'
Shakhtar keep hold of the ball for at least two minutes, just passing around the Serie A champions and bringing about a chorus of boos from the home fans.
61'
How did he miss that?! Giovinco - who has just come on for Vucinic - creates a chance down the left, whipping in a cross from the left but Matri somehow scoops the ball over the bar from five yards out!
60'
Wow!!! Shakhtar spring to life as Rakitskiy sprints into the empty space in the middle of the park. The flowing move ends in Willian curling inches wide from the edge of the box with his right foot.
59'
Play stops as Marchisio receives treatment inside the Shakhtar box, who looked like he was fouled on the replay.
58'
S. Giovinco enters the game and replaces M. Vučinić.
Juve are still pouring forwards but the Bianconeri are leaving themselves vulnerable at the back as a result. Can Shakhtar make the most of this?
56'
Pyatov bats away Pirlo's corner from the left after Chiellini won the ste piece with a shot that Fernandinho blocked from 30 yards.
55'
Shakhtar had five against four on the break but Willian delays his pass and, as a result, he is tackled 30 yards or so from goal.
53'
Luiz Adriano makes a meal of Bonucci's challenge, making it look like he was wrestled to the floor, but the referee isn't falling for the Brazilian's trickery.
51'
Bonucci with a classy dummy 45 yards from his own goal but his hoof up the pitch and out of play down the left serves as a reminder why he plays in the centre of defence!
50'
Lichtsteiner surges forwards again, squares for Matri who controls impeccably considering his limited space and the pace on the ball, but his shot is blocked 15 yards from goal.
48'
Rats wins the battle with Vidal but, after the ball is switched, Srna's ball cannot get beyond the back four.
47'
The hosts are already on the front foot, attacking down the left flank with venom.
46'
As Chiellini lets out a battle cry for his team-mates as Juve get the second half under way.
45' +2
Bonucci almost scores again! The left leg of Pyatov denies him a second goal as the Italy international heads on target from a corner.
45' +1
Good work from Asamoah on the left forces Rakitskiy to concede a corner.
45'
Lichtsteiner gets a booking for a cynical foul in the opposition half.
44'
Pirlo with the free-kick, a sly passed set-piece down the right for Lichtsteiner, who wins a corner from his cross.
43'
S. Lichtsteiner gets yellow.
A concerted spell of possession in the visitors' territory. Is this the first time Shakhtar have been on the backfoot? Probably.
42'
Barzagli somehow finds himself with the ball in the final third, but the centre-back's cross is a lot less impressive than Bonucci's firecracking goal, dribbling and bobbling back to Pyatov between the sticks.
40'
Vidal and Asamoah work together nicely down the left, but Marchisio''s shot is always rising and never troubles the Shakhtar goalkeeper.
39'
Another Juve foul. I was at no point counting them, but if I had been I would have lost count by now...
37'
Ever since I said this was a terrific match the tempo has become more deathly than I thought possible! Fingers crossed somebody pings life back into this one!
35'
Shakhtar defender Kucher blocks Lichtsteiner's cross after another probing through ball from Vucinic.
33'
Since that rubbish pass at the start, Willian has grown in stature to be arguably the best player of the first third of the clash.
31'
Arturo Vidal - who scored a corker for Juve two weeks ago against Chelsea while injured - unleashes a powerful effort from 25 yards but it's straight at the visitors' goalkeeper, Pyatov.
29'
Boos ring around the ground as Marchisio fouls Shakhtar skipper Srna around the halfway line. The home fans might like the think that wasn't a foul but...well...it was.
28'
This game has been terrific so far! End-to-end at the moment and both teams looking more than capable of scoring another goal.
25'
L. Bonucci has scored a goal for Juventus! Assist by A. Pirlo.
Almost an immediate reply from the Bianconeri, as Vucinic's carefully weighted through ball from Matri results in the striker's shot being blocked by Rakitskiy's slide tackle.
GOAL!! Bonucci unleashes an absolute rocket to level the scores!! Hard to believe that came from a centre-back, as a training ground corner skids to his feet 13 yards from goal. Juventus 1-1 Shakhtar Donetsk!
23'
Alex Teixeira has scored a goal for Shakhtar Donetsk! Assist by Willian.
GOAL!! Superb, sublime stuff from Shakhtar!! After excellent passing from the away team, Willian has his first shot blocked just inside the box then passes right for the onside Alex Texeira to belt into the roof of the net from 10 yards. Juventus 0-1 Shakhtar Donetsk!
22'
More proof that the Italian side have not been up to their usual high standards is their 35% possession stat - alarmingly poor for a home team as strong as Juve!
20'
Shakhtar have settled the quickest at the Juventus Stadium tonight but, as previous posts show, the Bianconeri are hardly on the back foot.
18'
Chance for Juve! Sublime lobbed pass from Pirlo into the box but Marchisio cannot fire below the crossbar with his first-touch shot.
17'
Shakhtar are looking mighty shap! Texeira wiggles through the defence into the hosts' box but Buffon is on hand to prevent the danger from escalating beyond bum-wriggling-in-seats level.
15'
Mirko Vucinic whips a peach of a pass into the box from the right but Matri cannot quite direct his slid shot on goal.
13'
Another shocker! This time at the other end! Willian is hauled down in the penalty area by Lichtsteiner but nothing is given despite the Brazilian's extended protesting.
12'
A shocking offside decision as Matri is deemed to have jumped the gun when in fact he was easily onside.
10'
Juve are racking up the fouls, much to the discontent of caretaker coach Massimo Carrera.
7'
Willian - a player whose name you might recognise for being linked with teams such as Tottenham over the summer - passes the ball waywardly and it's a needless throw to the home side.
4'
Barzagli, Bonucci and Chiellini work the ball around at the back, the Bianconeri centre-backs looking as calm on the ball as ever.
3'
Large swathes of this relatively new stadium are sadly empty. Not as formidable an atmosphere as Juve might have liked...

The game gets under way! Juventus Stadium witnesses its first Champions League clash!
Hello and welcome to Goal.com's LIVE coverage of Juventus v Shakhtar Donetsk! I'm Miles Chambers and I'll be describing everything that happens in this match. (Within reason...I mean, who wants to know about every single throw-in?!)
So Juve opt to stick with largely the same side that swept aside Roma at the weekend. Martin Caceres drops to the bench while Paolo De Ceglie is rested altogether; in come Kwadwo Asamoah and Stephan Lichtsteiner.
Henrik Mkhitaryan is the one to watch for the Ukrainian side - the attacker has scored 13 times in the last 10 games in the league.
Juve, remember, come into this Champions League clash having drawn 2-2 with Chelsea in their opening clash, having come back from two goals down at Stamford Bridge. Shakhtar won 2-0 at home to Nordsjaelland.
Half-time! Shakhtar took the lead with a well-worked goal which Alex Texeira applied the finishing touches to. Three minutes later, Juve grabbed a goal of their own as Bonucci thrashed in from just inside the box from a corner. Towards the end of the half, Carrera's men showed signs of dominance but for large portions of the match it was the visitors who were in control. With 45 minutes to go, it's Juventus 1-1 Shakhtar Donetsk.
The referee blows his whistle for the final time and it finishes Juventus 1-1 Shakhtar Donetsk. Probably the fairest result considering both sides had a number of chances they might have scored and a number they should have. The Ukrainian side can be proud with how they have played at the intimidating Juventus Stadium, while the Bianconeri will be relieved to have got a point but frustrated not to have been more in control to force a win.
Boys and girls, that's it from me. i hope you've enjoyed this clash and all of our Champions League coverage in general. Stick around for reaction to the match and place your bets on who will be the first Juve player/staff/owner to use the word 'disappointed' to describe that performance. My money? I'll play the safe bet and go for Massimo Carrera. Goodbye folks!
