Jiangsu Sainty missed the chance to close the gap on Guangzhou Evergrande after they were held to a goalless draw by Changchun Yatai.

The title hopefuls were unbeaten in their last 10 Chinese Super League fixtures, including two wins in succession against Henan Jianye and Guizhou Renhe, but trailed league leaders Evergrande by four points heading into Monday's match.

However Dragan Okuka's side, despite boasting the competition's top goalscorer Cristian Danalache (21), were unable to find the back at the Development Area Stadium of the net and make any significant in-roads on Evergrande.

Sainty have now drawn nine matches after 25 rounds of league football to move to 48 points, while Yatai, who are winless in seven, remain in eighth position.
