Liga Sagres wrap: Gonzalez fires Porto
A brace from Argentine midfielder Lucho Gonzalez guided reigning champions FC Porto to their first win of the Liga Sagres season.
The former Marseille man scored in each half as Porto trounced Vitoria Guimaraes 4-0 at the Estadio Do Dragao on Saturday.
Gonzalez broke the deadlock for the hosts with a 16th-minute strike, before Brazilian striker Hulk doubled Porto's advantage on 66 minutes.
Vitor Pereira's side moved out to a 3-0 lead courtesy of Gonzalez's second goal five minutes later.
Colombian striker Jackson Martinez then added a fourth from the penalty spot with 10 minutes of play remaining.
Elsewhere, Ruben Micael claimed a first-half brace as Sporting Braga recorded a 3-1 victory over visiting Beira-Mar.
Micael, on loan from Spanish outfit Atletico Madrid, hit the back of the net in the 27th and 33rd minute on Saturday, while Ruben Amorim scored with five minutes remaining to hand Braga their first three points of the campaign.
