This is the second Euro 2012 game for referee Wolfgang Stark. His first match was the 1-1 draw between Poland and Russia in Group A. Stark has refereed three matches involving Croatia and in all three games they won. Stark has only officiated over Spain once before, a EURO 2008 qualifier in which they drew 1-1 with Iceland.
