J.League: Tokyo 3 Sagan Tosu 2
Kazuma Watanabe scored a dramatic late hat-trick as FC Tokyo came from two goals down to clinch a 3-2 win over Sagan Tosu in the J.League.
Watanabe struck on 75, 81 and 88 minutes to the delight of the Tokyo faithful at Ajinomoto Stadium after Kota Mizunuma and Yohei Toyoda scored on either side of half-time for Sagan on Sunday.
Tokyo looked destined for their fifth loss of the season before Watanabe restored hope with a clever chip over Sagan goalkeeper Taku Akahoshi with 15 minutes to go.
The Japan international capitalised on a goalmouth scramble to equalise six minutes later and headed in the winner from a pinpoint free kick at the death.
Mizunuma had opened Sagan's account on 42 minutes with a powerful shot from close range before Toyoda doubled their advantage 15 minutes into the second half.
The win moves Tokyo, who face Chinese Super League side Guangzhou Evergrande in the AFC Champions League round of 16 later this month, into sixth, while Sagan remain eighth.
