Ronaldo: Portugal worthy of Euro berth

Cristiano Ronaldo said Portugal were far superior in their Euro 2012 playoff triumph over Bosnia and Herzegovina on Tuesday.

The Real Madrid ace put on an impressive display, scoring two goals in his side's 6-2 rout of Bosnia in Lisbon.

The victory sees Portugal book a place in the Euro 2012 finals after the first leg ended in a goalless draw, and Ronaldo believes that his side were always superior to their opponents.

"I had a good match, in which I scored goals, the team also played well, we are very happy and thank God we are at Euro 2012," Ronaldo said.

"All considered, Portugal are fair winners, we are better than them, we showed it today, just like we had shown it in the first-leg."

"I think the result was fair, we played better and we are a better team."

Bosnia coach Safet Susic praised Portugal and said the opposition were deserving of their place at next year's finals in Poland and Ukraine.

"The Portuguese were faster and all-round better than us," Susic told reporters after the match.

"I want to congratulate Portgual for their passage to Euro 2012. They were far better than us and I want to wish them luck."

"I do not regret the way we played, even though we were much better in the first game last week."
