There was one huge change at the last moment for the Netherlands as André Ooijer jumped into the starting XI in place of Joris Mathijsen. Mathijsen injured himself in warm-ups, and he is out. It is a big blow as Mathijsen has played every minute of every game of the World Cup qualifying tournament and finals.
With a berth in the semifinals on the line today in Port Elizabeth, the Netherlands and Brazil square off in a tussle of world powers as both sides continue their quest for football's ultimate prize. The Dutch made it to this point by seeing off Slovakia, 2-1, in their round of 16 game while Brazil ousted Chile with a dominating 3-0 victory. As expected, Dutch coach Bert van Marwijk has named the identical side that beat Slovakia. Arjen Robben made his first start back from injury and netted the opener in the win. Brazil coach Dunga, meanwhile, is forced into a change due to the suspension of Ramires and the continued injury problems of Elano. Felipe Melo, passed fit only today, will return to the squad after missing out against Chile in place of Ramires. The rest of Brazil's squad remains unchanged.
