Groningen had a good start in Eindhoven as bad defense from Andre Ooijer allowed Tim Matavz to score the opening goal in the third minute.

But the hosts levelled with a distance shot from 17-year-old Zakaria Labyad in the 26th minute and a free kick from Balazs Dzsudzsak put PSV ahead three minutes after the break.

Labyad, in his first appearance in PSV's starting line-up, went on to add a second in the 84th minute after a shot from Stijn Wuytens came back from the post.
