Roda did need a wake-up call as last-placed RKC drew first blood in the seventh minute. Charlison Benschop picked up the ball in midfield, dribbled toward the goal and struck home from about 18 meters.
But the hosts got the equaliser in the 23rd minute with Morten Skoubo heading in from close range, and an unfortunate own goal from Jurgen Colin set the score to 2-1 11 minutes later.
The second half was all off Mads Junker, who first scored on a rebound in the 62nd minute and went on to make it 4-1 seven minutes later, again after keeper Levita blocking a shot.
The Dane completed his hat-trick in the 81st minute, easily tapping in after a short pass from Willem Janssen.
