Livorno vs. Genoa

Livorno started the game strong. Palacio got down the left and crossed for a Crespo diving header that missed the ball by a matter of inches. Candreva was playing in a more advanced role today and proved decisive, as he got away from Salvatore Bocchetti down the right flank and crossed for Cristiano Lucarelli at the near post. It was Livorno's fifth goal of the season.

Both sides were forced into early substitutions, as Miglionico and Modesto picked up injuries. There was a great chance for Genoa when Giandomenico Mesto dummied a shot and instead rolled across for the unmarked Palacio, but the Argentine horribly scuffed.

Candreva was churning out assists for Lucarelli's header over and a Nico Pulzetti shot blocked by Marco Amelia.

Straight after the restart another Candreva cross from the left found a low Diniz volley at the back post, but Amelia performed a stunning point-blank reaction save before the ball could entirely cross the line.

Livorno also wanted a penalty for a clumsy Bocchetti challenge on Lucarelli, but Genoa equalised just past the hour mark. A cross from the right was not dealt with effectively and Raffaele Palladino's dummy created space for Domenico Criscito's low strike from nine yards.

Livorno were furious when Lucarelli hit the back of the net, but it was ruled offside. Mesto was also angry, as he tried to make too much of contact with Galante and was booked for simulation, ruling him out of next week's Genoa derby.

Deep into stoppages the home crowd went wild as they took the lead with practically the last move of the game! A long cross from the right went past Lucarelli, but found Nico Pulzetti's free header at the back post that squirmed between Amelia and the woodwork.
