Lens vs. Nancy

After an evenly balanced if uninspired first half, both sides came out swinging in the second term but it was Nancy who looked set for their third consecutive away win when they took the lead in the 54th minute.

After some fine work from left-back Reynald Lemaître, Cameroon international Paul Alo'o Efoulou neatly controlled Youssouf Hadji's nod-on before volleying home powerfully from the penalty spot.

Setting about their task of finding a leveller with some zest, the home team were unlucky to see Maoulida strike just wide. With 15 minutes to go, Abdoulrazak Boukari had a shot kicked clear by Bracigliano, but a leveller was just around the corner.

Maoulida was again the catalyst, striking goalwards with such force that Bracigliano could not control the rebound to his shot. Onto the ball like a flash, Issam Jemaa poached the goal with ten minutes remaining.

On the very next attack, Kevin Monnet-Paquet put the home side ahead. Roudet danced into space to cross the ball into the Nancy defence, Bracigliano failed to punch clear with real authority, and the young attacker struck.

The win sees Lens climb further from the relegation zone to 16th place, stretching their unbeaten run to three matches after a string of four consecutive defeats. Nancy on the other hand suffered their second consecutive defeat to slip to 11th on the Ligue 1 table.
