Report

AZ Alkmaar and Feyenoord Rotterdam held each other to a 1-1 draw in their Eredivisie clash on Sunday, a result both sides should be able to live with.

Feyenoord were clearly the better side in the first half, and needed only five minutes to open the scoring. Leroy Fer provided Sekou Cisse with the assist that allowed the Ivorian to beat keeper Romero for 0-1.

The balance shifted in the second half however, as AZ slowly but surely began to control the game. Ronald Koeman's men got the equalize in the 55th minute, with Brett Holman sending a powerful shot past keeper Darley.

In the remaining 35 minutes, AZ continued to dominate but it couldn't create any more big chances. A late goal from Andre Bahia was disallowed for off-side.

Feyenoord remain in fourth place at 11 points from leaders Twente, while AZ are stuck in eighth position at 16 points from the top.
