Lorient vs. Boulogne

Kevin Gameiro and Marama Vahirua put up the home side 4-0 up in the space of 25 minutes either side of half-time before Morgan Amalfitano completed the rout in injury time.

A dull start to the game brightened up a little before the interval. Boulogne was actually the first to show, with a poor clearance from Fabien Audard nearly punished by Lucien Aubey, whose first time lob narrowly missed the target.

From then on it was all Lorient and Gameiro forced a save from Ibrahima Kone with an angled effort before the goalkeeper did superbly to deflect Vahirua's volley away with his foot after 30 minutes.

But the home side went ahead just three minutes later as Amalfitano's long ball released Gameiro, who lobbed the ball over Kone. Lorient’s most accomplished finisher did not need a second invitation, sending a low shot into the ground.

Boulogne were unwinding, and soon they would be four down. A Ducasse free kick failed to beat the wall, but Vahirua was sharpest to the rebound, turning the ball into the net.

Gabriel Penalba then had his low shot saved by Kone, but Amalfitano did make it five for Lorient two minutes into time added on.

He fired home a fierce volley after the visitors had failed to properly clear a corner.
