Sochaux vs. Lens

Romain Sartre broke the deadlock for Lens after 38 minutes and Razak Boukari made it 2-0 with four minutes remaining, before Sloan Privat pulled a late goal back for the hosts.

Playing largely off the back foot, the visiting side struck late in each half, with Romain Sartre and Abdoulrazak Boukari scoring the decisive goals. Substitute Sloan Privat replied for a disappointing home side in stoppage time.

Runje gathered Yassin Mikari's weak early effort and made a superb save from the same player a minute later as the hosts started brightly. The left winger steadied himself before shooting goalwards with the right foot, but the Croatian goalkeeper made a commendable save.

And the keeper was again in the action as Ryad Boudebouz fired a left-footed effort in from the edge of the box in the 25th minute.

Lens gained their reward for the stopper's efforts as Sebastien Roudet's free-kick took a deflection off Sochaux's Stephane Dalmat, and Sartre, up from defence, got the final touch to steer the ball past keeper Teddy Richert.

Bojan Jokic shot wide before half-time and the Sochaux pressure continued after the break, Runje twice blocking from Vaclav Sverkos.

Lens had shown little as an attacking force by Eduardo sent out a warning shot to their hosts ten minutes before half-time, scything through the left side of the home defence before getting his final shot all wrong.

Boukari’s stunning strike from the right corner of the box was out of the character of the match. A quick feint opened up the shooting angle for him, but he still had much work to do as he bent a fantastic finish into the opposite top corner of Richert’s goal.

In stoppage time Sloan Privat finally found a breakthrough for the home side. This gave the visitors a dramatic chance to muster one final attack, but despite creating a chance for Damien Perquis, the defender flicked the centre by the near post.

While Lens are further clear of the relegation zone, Sochaux who stand 14th in the table will go into the international break on this sour note and no immediate relegation danger.
