The match was deadlocked until the hour mark when Sahin slotted home from the penalty spot, and Barrios sealed the match with a late insurance goal.

Dortmund continued to play well in the second half, but their frustration grew until the 59th minute when Gojko Kacar felled Nelson Haedo Valdez in the area. Sahin stepped up to the spot and coolly beat Drobny.

Hertha were denied an equalizer in the 74th minute by the woodwork as Lukasz Piszczek clipped a shot off the post, and that miss allowed Barrios to seal the win in the 90th minute with a brilliant drive that left Drobny helpless.

Hertha are four points behind their nearest rivals at the foot of the Bundesliga table, and Dortmund rise to ninth place as they extended their unbeaten Bundesliga run to four games.
