Roma vs. Livorno

Early in the game Alfonso De Lucia mistimed his run and let Mirko Vucinic go through, but there wasn't enough space to take advantage and the ball went out of play.

The Giallorossi had a great chance when John Arne Riise got to the byline and pulled back for Simone Perrotta, firing right at De Lucia from point-blank range.

Livorno lost Perticone to a horrible injury, as he fell awkwardly on to his hand and may well have fractured a finger. Fabio Galante came on for the injured player.

There was a shock five minutes before the break, as former Roman Francesco Tavano gave Livorno the lead for his first goal of the season. He ran on to a pullback from the left flank and smacked it in the tiniest of gaps between Alexander Doni and the near post to silence the Olimpico.

After the restart Stefano Guberti replaced Jeremy Menez and in the first 120 seconds he brought a save out of De Lucia and the same corner whipped inches past Nicolas Burdisso at the back post.

But Livorno were reduced to 10 men in controversial circumstances on the hour mark. Goalkeeper De Lucia was booked for time-wasting and moments later received a second yellow for kicking the ball away in anger.

Despite playing against 10 men, Roma's defence was caught out by a classic counter and Doni had to rush out to close down Moro with great bravery.

In stoppages they finally forced Benussi into a save, having his palms stung by Perrotta at the near post after a corner had ricocheted around the six-yard box.
