Lens vs. Toulouse

Lens had lost their three previous matches without scoring a goal, and were condemned to a fourth Ligue 1 game without finding the net by a Toulouse side that bounced back well from their midweek Europa League mauling at the hands of Shakhtar Donetsk.

The visitors had already threatened at the Stade Bollaert before they took the lead on 35 minutes.

Moussa Sissoko has shouldered much of the goalscoring burden for Alain Casanova's men this season, and the newly-capped French international poached his fourth league strike of the campaign from close range after Franck Tabanou's shot had hit the woodwork.

Tabanou then brought an excellent diving stop out of Vedran Runje before Gignac finally ended his long wait for a second goal of the season.

There was more than a resemblance to a number of his 24 strikes last season that made him Ligue 1's top scorer as he bent a right-footed shot around Runje and into the top corner 12 minutes into the second half.

Substitute Kévin Monnet-Paquet had the chance to pull one back for the hosts late on, but found the imposing Yohann Pelé an impassable barrier as Toulouse recorded a second successive league win.
