Boulogne vs. Monaco

Monaco fashioned their impressive win in conditions that were anything but inspiring. Heavy rain had fallen throughout the day in Boulogne and a gusting wind made life difficult for the players. Nonetheless there was some good football played with South Korean striker Park relishing the slippery surface.

It took Park only four minutes to register his first shot on target, a long-range effort that was turned away by Boulogne's Ibrahim Koné. Thirty minutes later and Park had adjusted his sights enough to net his third goal of the season, deflecting home Alejandro Alonso's shot and wrong-footing Koné.

If that wasn't bad enough for the home side there was worse to come a couple of minutes later when defender Kevin Das Neves was given his marching orders by Monsieur Piccirillo for a two-footed tackle on Alonso.

In the second-half Park and Nene again caused problems for the Boulogne defence but then on 65 minutes Jérémy Blayac equalised for the home side against the run of play. Joy for Boulogne and it was nearly doubled a few minutes later when only a sharp save by Monaco goalkeeper Stéphane Ruffier denied Blayac a second.
