The Catalan side then went in front in the 26th as Andrés Iniesta, starting in place of the injured Thierry Henry, fed in a wonderful ball for the talented Lionel Messi to slot home past Olexandr Shovkovskiy.

Ibrahimovic came close twice after that to the second goal, and they began to dominate the match following the Messi goal.

The home side pressure increased as the half progressed, the Ukrainians unable to remove the ball from their own half. The pressure was rewarded 14 minutes from time as Pedro Rodríguez turned inside his defender to curl a shot inside Shovkovskiy's far post from 15 yards out.

Artem Milevskiy had a chance to pull a goal back late for the visitors after a defensive error by Barça, but his attempted chip of Víctor Valdés landed harmlessly on top of the goal.
