Napoli vs. Siena

Napoli went on the attack, but were wide open for the counter as Aronica intercepted a Massimo Maccarone cross for Michele Fini at the back post.

Ezequiel Lavezzi put the ball in the back of the net after waltzing round the goalkeeper, but play had already been halted for a very tight offside decision.

Another Siena counter was dangerous with Ghezzal volleying Maccarone's cross over, while Napoli had penalty appeals ignored for Jajalo's sliding tackle on Christian Maggio, as the referee believed he got the ball.

Napoli's first shot on target came after 35 minutes when Paolo Cannavaro nodded a free kick straight at the goalkeeper.

Del Grosso needed a goalline clearance to prevent Napoli opening the scoring just before half-time. Datolo's cross went all the way along the box for Maggio at the back post, but Del Grosso was there for the decisive intervention.

Napoli finally broke the deadlock four minutes after the restart. A cross was put back in by Datolo for Marek Hamsik's header from five yards.

However, it took just six minutes for Siena to equalise. Maccarone gathered on the edge of the area and cut in to find space, smashing a low drive into the far bottom corner.

Fabio Quagliarella's cross struck Brandao's hand for a penalty. Hamsik's first effort was saved by Gianluca Curci, but the Slovak turned in on the rebound to restore Napoli's lead.

Cannavaro nodded a Datolo free kick over from five yards as Napoli clung on to the result, but Michele Paolucci wanted a penalty for Siena in stoppages.
