Chievo vs. Atalanta

The Flying Donkeys had seven points from their last three games and welcomed an Atalanta side that only managed its first draw on Antonio Conte's Wednesday night debut.

Iori skimmed the target from distance and Andrea Consigli had his palms stung by a Michele Marcolini volley. Sergio Pellissier was unlucky when his angled drive thumped the base of the far post after beating the Atalanta goalkeeper.

Giampiero Pinzi felt he deserved a penalty when Giampaolo Bellini clattered into him just inside the box, but the referee waved play on.

Consigli flew across his goal to palm out a Pinzi thunderbolt, as Atalanta were pinned back into their own half.

Mario Yepes had a free header from a corner, but turned it wide from six yards.

Despite it all, Atalanta took the lead against the run of play with their first real chance. A Gyorgy Garics cross was nodded on to the upright by Cristiano Doni and former Chievo striker Tiribocchi was there to tap in the rebound.

Pinzi flashed a shot across the face of goal and Chievo equalised thanks to some disastrous defending! Bianco allowed a Garics backpass to keep going, where Pellissier pounced to waltz round the goalkeeper.

Moments later Tiberio Guarente clipped the outside of the post for Atalanta, while at the other end a Yepes header was blocked with some difficulty.
