Nice vs. Monaco

A penalty from Nene and Alejandro Alonso's strike meant the visitors were 2-0 up with less than 12 minutes on the clock. Loic Remy pulled one back for Nice three minutes from the break but Alonso restored his side's two-goal cushion in the 72nd minute.

Monaco were looking for their first away points to continue their good start to the season and they got off to the best possible start when Onyekachi Apam fouled Nene in the ninth minute and the referee pointed to the spot. The Brazilian sent a low powerful penalty past the outstretched hand of David Ospina for his fourth goal of the season.

The visitors doubled their lead three minutes later following a swift counter-attack which saw Mathieu Coutadeur release Alonso in front of the goal who had only the keeper to beat.

The hosts managed to reduce the deficit three minutes from half-time when Remy headed home Gregory Paisley's cross. And they could have levelled matters seven minutes after the break but Ruffier pulled off an excellent save to keep out another Ben Saada free-kick.

Alonso doubled his tally in the 72nd minute when he played a one-two with Park before heading powerfully home.
