Siena vs. Roma

Siena took the lead with a splendid solo effort from Massimo Maccarone. He ran into the box and turned both Juan and Philippe Mexes inside out to slam the finish high under the bar.

Julio Baptista's free kick was deflected off the wall for a corner, but from the counter a Michele Fini cross-shot hit the roof of the net. Roma pushed forward, but left immense gaps at the back for Siena to hit them on the break.

Roma equalised through defender Mexes. Totti gathered a long Pizarro cross to the byline and hit it back for Mexes to fire an angled drive into the far bottom corner. Daniele De Rossi may well have been disturbing the goalkeeper, but he was not offside, as there was a Siena defender near the corner flag.

Roma completed the comeback against 10-man Siena in the final minute. Riise thumped a free kick from the edge of the box that split the wall in two and went in despite Curci getting his hands to the left-foot strike.
