A goal four minutes into added time earned Feyenoord Rotterdam a hard-fought draw against FC Twente. As a result however, the two sides have to give up their joint leadership.
Feyenoord were clearly the better side in the first half at De Kuip stadium. The hosts could have gone ahead on several occasions, most notably when an effort from Andwele Slory hit the woodwork.
Twente improved in the second half and Steve McClaren's side even took the lead in the 74th minute when keeper Rob van Dijk failed to parry a rather soft shot from Nicky Kuiper.
But Twente couldn't hold on to their lead. With coach McClaren watching from the stands after being sent away by the referee for entering the pitch, Kuiper handled the ball with a penalty as result. Roy Makaay beat keeper Sander Boscher from the spot to avoid the defeat.
The two teams now share second place, with AZ Alkmaar one point ahead in first.
