Report
Tommaso Rocchi continued Lazio's excellent start to the 2009-10 campaign, but Robert Acquafresca wasted some golden opportunities. There were chances for both sides in the opening five minutes. Mauro Zarate's slide-rule pass was ballooned over by Tommaso Rocchi, then Robert Acquafresca was unable to make the most of a poor Cristian Brocchi backpass. Lazio broke the deadlock 22 minutes in. Pasquale Foggia created the goal with a splendid through ball from the right flank that Rocchi side-footed in from eight yards. Zarate threatened a second with his slalom past four defenders and Aleksandr Kolarov flashed an angled drive past the far post. Atalanta only really had chances from distance with Barreto and Cristiano Doni.
