Siena vs. Milan

Straight after the restart it was 2-1 to Milan with Pato again on target. Ronaldinho's splendid through ball cut the Siena defence in two to reach Mathieu Flamini, who immediately placed a square pass to the back post for Pato's tap-in. Massimo Maccarone went close to another equaliser, as he sprung the offside trap to flash an angled drive across the face of goal. Siena made a double substitution, introducing summer buys Michele Paolucci and Juventus-owned midfielder Albin Ekdal. Massimo Ambrosini replaced Gennaro Gattuso, moving Flamini to centre-right midfield and handing the captain's armband to Pirlo. Storari smothered a dangerous Jarolim volley, but from a corner Ronaldinho's splendid overhead kick forced Curci to fingertip it out from under the bar. Pato's cross-shot grazed the crossbar from the tightest of angles and Ronaldinho's free kick was deflected over. Chaotic defending risked an equaliser as a corner bounced around the six-yard box for Borriello to clear. Siena strung together a series of corners and Storari had to slap one out from under the bar following Ficagna's header. In the final 10 minutes Reginaldo came on for Siena to adopt a 4-2-3-1 system, but Pato almost got a hat-trick with another wonderful Ronaldinho assist, but the youngster hit the side-netting. There was tension at the final whistle, as Vergassola got into a scuffle with Milan players when he tried to confront Pato.
