Bordeaux recorded a 13th straight Ligue 1 win against an unpredictable Sochaux side, away at Stade Auguste Bonal.
The Ligue 1 champions produced an impressive performance in front of goal to add three more points to their tally.
Fernando Cavenaghi's volley gave a warning to les Lionceaux early on with Vaclav Sverkos responding for the home side.
With less posession the champions struck via Yoann Gourcuff’s corner, which picked out Marouane Chamakh to head home a simple opening goal.
And before half-time they should have added to the scoreline, when Wendel making a good break down the left, was helped by Ivan Stevanovic to slide the ball into his own net to give Bordeaux a crucial advantage.
But Charlie Davies' introduction revived Sochaux's attack, just as it did last weekend against Auxerre. The American who would give les Lionceaux a lifeline, combining with Marvin Martin to strike beyond Carrasso and into the net.
As the hosts pressed on for a leveller, Chamakh would step in to deliver an ultimate blow leaping over the Sochaux defence to convert from a Gourcuff corner.
Davies and Sverkos continued to link up well, with the former flicking a header to the latter, who was only denied by a terrific Carrasso save. Sochaux would get another goal back, Davies again the sliding a consolation goal home deep into stoppage time after Bordeaux failed to deal with a corner.
