Arsenal kicked off their Premier League season in style when they thumped Merseyside club Everton for 6-1 at Goodison Park.
Last year's FA Cup finalist became a victim of Arsenal's clinical display, as Denilson, Fabregas, Gallas, Vermaelen and Eduardo got on the score sheet.
While Louis Saha stuck a consolation goal in injury time, although the damage had already been done before the interval.
Denilson began the score proceedings when his superb strike found it's way into the back of the net on 26 minutes, and new boy Thomas Vermaelen nodded home a free header as he was left unmarked 11 minutes later.
The Gunners virtually sealed the game when William Gallas headed in via a Robin Van Persie free kick just four minutes from the interval.
And things didn't get any better for the Toffees after the break, with Cesc Fabregas taking centre stage to net on 48 and 69 minutes.
Eduardo added a sixth for Arsenal with two minutes remaining, his first Premier League goal since suffering that horrific injury at Birmingham back in 2008.
And Saha finally got Everton on the scoresheet with a tap-in in the closing seconds.
Arsene's troops now travel to Parkhead to play Celtic, with enough confidence from this result in a Champions League Qualifier play-offs
