AS Monaco made the most in an evenly contested match that could have swung either ways, in their league opener against Toulouse at home.
The game was certainly nerve wracking with both sides threatening to break the dead lock.
TFC's Etienne Didot forced Monaco's goalkeeper Stephane Ruffier into a fine save, while Andre-Pierre Gignac’s header from a corner was safely grabbed by the Ruffier, with claims from TFC players that the ball had crossed the line.
And midfielder Moussa Sissoko would be ruing over a good opportunity which he would shoot wide off the target from a few yards out.
However, the hosts also came close to scoring after a good long range effort from Nene would be parried away by Olivier Blondel.
TFC were once again wriggled out from Monaco's continued dominance which brought around Cetto turning the ball in his own net.
But Nene would be the difference in the first half when he would fire Monaco to a deserved break through two minutes from the interval.
Blondel, on the contrary, kept TFC in the game by making fine saves through out the second half first, from a Park Chu-Young header towards the post and moments later a Nene deadball.
The game took an unexpected turn when Diego Perez would be sent off for a second yellow, prompting instant pressure from the visitors.
And luck would deprive TFC a goal as Etienne Didot would shoot just wide and Gignac having his effort held at the second attempt by Ruffier.
The guests were surely at the wrong end with Monaco being pleased with themselves after finishing with just ten men.
