Willem II were too strong for Vitesse in their first game of the season, beating the Arnhem outfit 3-1 in Tilburg.
Just four minutes were needed for the home side to take a lead through Christophe Gregoire, after an assist from Sergio Zijler.
Said Boutahar made it 2-0 shortly before the half hour mark after a bad mistake from defender Paul Verhaegh. The player had only the keeper to beat and didn't need to think twice.
Willem II went a man down when Gregoire picked up a second yellow card after the break, and Vitesse then pulled one back through newcomer Sinan Kaloglu.
The visitors went on to hit the woodwork twice but it was Willem II to add a third goal with Arjan Swinkels putting the crown on a well-performed counter-attack in added time.
