Guus Hiddink's last match at Stamford Bridge had a positive outcome as his side, Chelsea, beat Blackburn Rovers 2-0 with one goal in each half.
Just four minutes had been played in London when Frenchman Florent Malouda gave his side a 1-0 lead, heading home from a Nicolas Anelka centre.
And his compatriot Anelka went on to score the second goal himself, after receiving the ball from Didier Drogba in minute 59.
The home victory was more than deserved as Chelsea were simply the much better side. It was manager Hiddink's final appearance in a home game. After next week's clash, the Dutchman returns to his job with the Russian national team.
