A 0-0 draw with Arsenal was enough for Manchester United to secure the 2008-09 championship, their 18th league title in history.
United needed just one point to make sure that Liverpool would not be able to catch up. Arsenal did put up a fight though, as expected, and home fans couldn't celebrate their title until after the final whistle.
The Gunners had good chances through Robin van Persie and Cesc Fabregas but neither was successful at Old Trafford. On the other side, Korean Park had a goal incorrectly disallowed for off side.
There was also a moment of disapproval from the crowd when Argentinian striker Carlos Tevez was subbed off in the second half. Many fans have recently expressed their wish for the forward to remain at Manchester.
But as the final whistle sounded, all was forgotten as United clinched their third league title in a row, their 18th in total.
