Alberto Gilardino scored twice as Fiorentina returned to winning ways with a comprehensive defeat of Champions League rivals Roma.
The Viola's run of three successive wins ended last weekend with defeat at Udinese but they were back on form tonight and were already 2-0 up by the time Roma's efforts were undermined by the dismissal of David Pizarro in the fifty-ninth minute.
Juan Vargas and Gilardino did the damage, and they made their numerical advantage count in the second half as Gilardino grabbed another and Massimo Gobbi completed the rout before Julio Baptista scored a consolation for the visitors four minutes from time.
The win takes Fiorentina up to fourth - the Champions League qualifying place - two spots above Roma who are six points back.
