Manchester United came back from two goals down versus Tottenham Hotspur to beat the Londoners 5-2 at Old Trafford. All five home goals were scored in the second half.
Darren Bent put Spurs ahead from close range in the 29th minute and Croatian Luka Modric made it 0-2 after an assist from Aaron Lennon three minutes later.
Where some began to consider scenarios of United giving away the championship at the last moment, the Red Devils never gave up and got one back on 56 minutes. Michael Carrick was fouled by Spurs keeper Gomes and Cristiano Ronaldo converted the following penalty.
The hosts levelled about ten minutes later when Wayne Rooney's strike from inside the area left Gomes beaten, and would take the lead after another minute as Ronaldo headed home from close range.
Rooney got a second as well in the 71st minute and Dimitar Berbatov netted the fifth in a rather chaotic situation near the goalline in minute 79.
Although Tottenham had a surprisingly good start with two goals in the first half, United then proved to be the much better side with one chance after the other. Overall, a very deserved win for Sir Alex Ferguson and his men.
