Liverpool vs. Arsenal

Arshavin gave Arsenal a 0-1 lead from close range in the 36th minute but Fernando Torres headed home to equalise shortly after the break.

Some minutes later, Israeli striker Yossi Benayoun's header even put Liverpool ahead and while many assumed that the hosts would walk over Arsenal from there on, the Gunners soon fought their way back.

A great shot from Asharvin - following dismal defending - levelled the score in the 67th minute and the former Zenit St Petersburg player converted a Samir Nasri cross to put his side back ahead three minutes later.

Fernando Torres then struck from the edge of the penalty area for 3-3 in the 72nd minute but Arsenal thought to have secured the points when Arshavin took advantage of more bad defending in minute 90, scoring from the center of the penalty area.

Liverpool had the final say though, as a Javier Mascherano cross was met by Benayoun for 4-4. Neither side will be happy with the outcome as Arsenal were about to win the match whereas Liverpool really needed a win to put pressure on Manchester United.
