A goal just short of the half hour mark by Javier Del Pino after goalkeeper Casto Espinosa had failed to hold on to a Juan Carlos Moreno cross and the ball went free for Del Pino to tap the ball home. A penalty by Achille Emana drew the scores level after Boris had brought down Mariano Pavone in the penalty area. Two further goals before half time by Juanito who rose up to head a Fernando Vega cross into the net from the free-kick just outside the area. Mehmet Aurelio made it 3-1 in injury time at the end of the first half when he shot from well outside the area and beat Juan Pablo in goal.

Jose Barkero reduced the deficit ten minutes after the break after he had been put clear by a perfect through ball from Juan Quero. The match was put beyond doubt when Mehmet Aurelio unleashed a fierce shot from the edge of the penalty area that flew into the top right-hand corner of the net.
