BUCHAREST/KIEV, Oct 17 (SW) - Real Madrid and Olympique de Lyon both achieved comfortable away victories in their Champions League matches on Tuesday, beating Steaua Bucharest and Dynamo Kiev respectively.
Steaua Bucharest - Real Madrid 1-4
Real Madrid only needed nine minutes to take the lead in the Romanian capital. The unmarked Sergio Ramos powerfully headed home from a Guti corner with Steaua goalkeeper Carlos Fernandes not standing a chance.
And in the 34th minute, it was Raul to double Madrid's lead. Ruud van Nistelrooy had a shot saved but Raul scored in the rebound to add a 53rd goal to his Champions League palmares.
Eleven minutes had been played in the second half when the Spanish guests added another. Robinho came in from the left and his shot was deflected into the goal by Valentin Badea.
That same Badea would get a goal back five minutes later however, taking advantage of bad defense by the Spanish defense.
But the gap was soon restored to three. A precise chip by Dutch forward Ruud van Nistelrooy, after a Diarra pass, set the score to 1-4.
Dynamo Kiev - Olympique de Lyon 0-3
The match in the Ukranian capital city was played with a temperature of minus two degrees celcius but that didn't keep Brazilian Juninho to beautifully score from a free kick after about thirty minutes.
A correa foul on Juninho had been the cause of the free kick and the Lyon player curved the ball into the far corner for 0-1.
And the French champions added another in the 38th minute when Kim Källström entered the penalty area from the right wing before powering a strike past keeper Lutsenko.
Five minutes into the second half, Malouda netted Lyon's third to practically decide the match. The Frenchman headed past the goalie from a Juninho corner kick to set the score to 0-3.
